ODISHA Power Generation Corporation Ltd. (OPGC Ltd.) was incorporated on November 14, 1984 under the Companies Act, 1956. The entire share capital of the Company was initially owned by the Govt. of ODISHA. During January, 1999 Govt. of ODISHA as a part of the reforms process in the Energy Sector has divested 49% of its share in favour of Private Investor namely AES Corporation, USA. As the Govt. of ODISHA hold the stake of 51% of share, being a Govt. Company, it has taken concrete actions to provide information to the citizens of the country in accordance with the Right to Information Act, 2005.
